One of the case studies chosen to investigate the research question posed in the recent publication, Corporate Designing Religion - Transforming the Visual Identities of Religious Institutions in the Digital Era, published in October 2023 was the Haus der Religionen - Dialog der Kulturen in Berne, Switzerland. Unlike the other case studies which represented individual religions on a national basis, this case study involved the phenomenon of religious plurality on a smaller scale. The case study highlighted the problem of multifaith visual identity. Fortunately, the Haus der Religionen - Dialog der Kulturen were in the process of redesigning their corporate design during the research process. Therefore, the various stages in the development of their new corporate design provided valuable insights into a multifaith organisation transitioning their visual identity. The case study was investigated through five levels of analyses, the challenge multifaith visual identity, the specific visual identity of this multifaith case study from the perspectives of the original design and its redesign implemented in 2022. The case study provided an interesting variation of visual identity application, alongside the specific visual identities of the Church of England – based on two dioceses, the Catholic Church – based on two Austrian archdioceses, the Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland (Central Council of Jews in Germany), the IGGÖ – Islamische Glaubensgemeinschaft in Österreich (the Islamic Faith Community in Austria) and the DBU – Deutsche Buddhistische Union (German Buddhist Union). The documentation of the research project was published in October 2023. © Graham Wiseman / November 2023 / Link to the publisher: Lit
